Here is where we are heading for a ride. A giant ferris wheel rising 440 feet, it was once the largest ferris wheel but since bested by not one but two wheels in China, of course.It is enormous. I could see it flying over the city center coming into Heathrow. It is completely artificial, not complementing any part of any landscape nearby. It sits amongst alien objects as if it had been dropped by a child bored with his new toy. But it's flamboyant ugliness hasn't stopped more than 8 million paying riders from getting on board, including Marian and I.
